Procrastinating
If you’ve ever moved in the past, you know that it takes a little bit of planning. We encourage you to organize your time carefully prior to moving. It will save a lot of hassle and headaches if you make a plan and a schedule for pre-moving activities.
Forgetting To Make Arrangements
Whether you’ve forgotten to schedule movers (here – we’ll make it easy!) or didn’t make plans for someone to watch your pets, these little things can cost you in the long run.
Overloading Boxes
Did you know that heavy items should be packed in small boxes? It seems like it would be beneficial to pack them in a large box. However, smaller boxes are easier to carry. It also prevents the urge to pack even more items inside, which makes the box even heavier.
Not Keeping Track Of Receipts
This is actually two-fold. First, some moving expenses are tax-deductible. Be sure to check the IRS website and with your accountant so you can maximize the write-off’s. However, you must keep your receipts.
Secondly, it’s important to keep up with receipts such as rental equipment, your mover’s bill of lading, and other paperwork you may need to show during your move.
Not Researching Your Mover

Not Labeling Boxes
