Sometimes, we like to change it up a little bit. No, not our amazing customer service, moving expertise, or professional team members! Instead of focusing on moving tips, we’re sharing some Valentine’s fun facts to make you even more in love with the day of love.

Roses Are Red…Literally

According to a recent survey, Americans are expected to spend an estimated $2 billion on flowers and plants this Valentine’s Day. The most popular item ordered? You guessed it! Red roses.

Speaking of red roses, the flower is steeped in a rich literary history. According to Roman mythology, Venus falls in love with Adonis. Mars, who is also in love with Venus, tries to kill Adonis. As she hurriedly runs to warn Adonis, she scratches her foot in a rose bed. Her spilled blood springs forth red roses. Romantic, right? Or maybe just a little gross.

It’s A Money Maker

Fortune recently published an article regarding Valentine’s Day estimates. In 2017, they anticipate that Americans will spend $18.2 billion total this year. Of that amount, $4 billion is expected to be spent on jewelry. Bling, bling!

Sweets For The Sweet

According to the same article, 94% of all people said that they prefer to receive chocolate or other sweets to help them celebrate. Candy.com states that “more than 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolate will be sold for Valentine’s Day.”

Also, did you know that the peak selling time for the classic conversation hearts is only 6 weeks? It’s definitely a seasonal sweet, kind of like chocolate bunnies.

It’s All In The Cards

Despite popular beliefs, did you know that Valentine’s Day is actually the second most popular card-giving holiday? With over 190 million cards purchased, it still lags behind the tradition of Christmas card exchanges.

All of us at Brothers are crazy about our amazing customers. Without you, we would be brokenhearted, so be sure to contact us about your upcoming move. We wish you a very happy Valentine’s Day full of lots of love…and, hopefully, chocolate.
