ToggleHello, Dollies!
Can you imagine carrying a 100+ pound piece of furniture without assistance? With the use of a dolly, there’s genuinely no need to do that. Brothers makes use of several types of dollies, depending on what we’re moving.
- Two-Wheeled (Box) Dollies – This type of dolly is the most commonly recognized type of moving dolly. It’s usually a short “shelf” with a tall, vertical handle. This piece of equipment is capable of moving several stacked boxes, up to 300 pounds.
- Appliance Dollies – We bet you’ll never guess what these are used to move. If you guessed refrigerators, safes, washers, dryers, and other appliances up to 600 pounds, you’re right! These dollies, while similar to the box dollies, often include straps for better load securement.
- Four-Wheeled (Furniture) Dollies – Remember the floor scooters from elementary school PE? These flat dollies, made of strong wood and wheels, are the heavy-duty haulers of the bunch. These dollies are able to move up to 900 pounds.
All Safe…
Brothers makes sure to utilize door and floor protection during your move. This prevents possible stains to flooring and dings to your door jams. Those damages can be difficult, costly, and time-consuming to repair. In this situation, our motto is “better to prepare than repair.” We work hard to make sure your old home is the way you left it…and that your new home is move-in ready.
We also use harnesses, straps, and other means to securement to ensure that your belongings are transported safely. Think of these items as “moving seat belts.”
…And Cozy
Part of the Brothers moving experience includes blankets. No, we don’t mean the warm fuzzy kind for you to curl up with on the couch. Moving blankets, sometimes called pads, are made of thick, durable fabric. When used properly, they help to protect furniture and other items from scratches. Prior to loading, Brothers wraps each piece of furniture with a moving blanket in order to minimize possible damage while in transit. These blankets are also act as cushions between items to manage jostling.
Keep On Truckin’
Can you imagine your mover showing up with an open-air flatbed trailer? Probably not. One of the most important pieces of equipment during your move is the transportation. When you set up your free quote with Brothers, part of our job is to evaluate the type of vehicle required for your move.
Each move is different. A truck with too much space jostles your belongings around. A truck that isn’t big enough will require multiple loads. Brother is kind of like Goldilocks and The Three Bears…we are looking for a truck that’s just right for your move.
If you’re looking for a reliable, experienced mover, look no further than Brothers. Not only do we have the required equipment for residential moves, we offer free quotes on all of our services.
